Zoe Box of Style. $26/Month
The Rachel Zoe Box of Style from The Zoe Report is a subscription box from Rachel Zoe. As you guys all know, I am trying to decrease my shopping habit. I still need some excitement and I need it to be in the form of self-care and not in the form of weekly shopping sprees. I quit drinking wine and I made the wine-money rain at Nordstroms. I am cutting way back, but I still need something new every once in a while. This box was perfect. It comes 4 times a year, every season. It keeps me from walking into stores and walking out with way more of the same ol' tees I already have. It gives my style some oomph and excitement without wasting 100s of dollars. Plus, I just turned one year sober and wanted to reward me in a way I could justify with the dollars. The cost of a year long subscription is $339 for four boxes! That comes out to $26/month.
Each item is wrapped like its own individual present. It makes it seem like I am getting a present via the mail. The kicker, it is from myself! Self-care, check! Discounted, check! I unwrapped everything and I can honestly say, that I would've never picked out these items in a store, but I looooove them!

The items from the Summer box:
Helena Quinn Kimono– Retail Value $120
This design is an exclusive collaboration made just for Box of Style. The fabric is Georgette Poly Blend and the measurements are:
- Length 36″
- Chest armpit to armpit 22.5″
- Below hip is 27″
- Laid flat completely open 46″
I’m a size Small/Medium and 4/6 American and it was a little big on me, but it is floppy. The material is quite sheer, but for summer that is perfect. It is not silk like Helena's kimonos usually are which was disappointing. I love the look of this and will definitely use it on a night by a fire or as a swimsuit cover-up.
(I was able to pick if the black or tortoise option. I picked tortoise.)
I generally wear Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses or Tom Ford tortoise styles, so I wasn’t sure if this cat eye look would work for my face. I wouldn't have even bothered in a store to try them on. But, guess what? I freaking love them. I looked at them disappointedly in the box and thought, I'll give these to my sister...but it was love as soon as I put them on. I wore them the first day and got soooo many compliments. Reminder: Split up with the other items...$14 dollars. Yup. A steal.
Sole Society Straw Panama Hat – Value $27
I looooove pom poms. And, I love being outside and I am pale and freckled, so this is perfect. But, the down size to one-sized fits all. It is a bit big on me. With my hair down, it would definitely fly off in the wind. But, if I am outside, I will probably have my hair up and my big ol' bun fits inside. So, sorry, sis. Keeping this, too.
It measures about 25″ in circumference, and it is a little big for my small head.
The Brave Collection Compass Necklace– Value $115
The Brave Collection is a very travel inspired brand! This piece was hand-crafted by fair trade artisans in Cambodia and 10% of all profits are donated toward the fight against human trafficking. That excited me because I like knowing the extra profit isn't going toward a big CEOs pocket while the labor makes pennies. But, even more than the 10% profit going to a good cause was the fact that the necklace was a compass. I am on a mission to find my direction in life and I am not into big jewelry, so this stylish meaningful piece fit right in with my style. I put it on and I have not taken it off in 2 days. I am obsessed with it.
Now, to the beauty items...I am not a beauty item sort of girl. I wash my face with Dove and throw on mascara. But, I am trying to try new things. I was pleasantly surprised that these were very high quality items that I would actually use. Cream Blush and High SPF sunscreen. Being a flight attendant, the fact that they are solid is ideal for the liquid in your carry-on rules.
Beauty Counter Cream Blusher in Hibiscus – Value $37
Beautycounter is apparently quite a conscious brand, which makes me feel good. (Check out the list of 1500 ingredients they don’t include in their formulas.) This blush is fantastic. I put it on my lips and my cheeks and that is all I wore. It was great. I am fair, so it gave me a definite glow and it was beautifully natural. It didn't accentuate my wrinkles like powder does. It is actually great. I will repurchase this after I run out which should be quite a while because it is pigmented nicely and you don't have to use very much at once.
Beautycounter Protect Stick Sunscreen – Value $18
This is a face sunscreen in a stick. It goes on clearly! I love it. I am going to carry it in my purse for the tops of my hands and neckline when I am out and about. I am a crazy sunscreen lover, so it is perfect. I've never had it in a stick. But, for traveling, it is great. No more burst in your bag due to pressurization of the airplane! The smell is soft and nice. And, it is water resistant.
I have tried several subscription boxes that I would not recommend. But, this one is actually high quality and nice. It satisfies my want to go shopping for something to freshen my wardrobe when the seasons change.
This box's retail value is $467. And, for $26/month it keeps me from feeling deprived and bored with my wardrobe. It is my first budget shopping win.
